Flagstaff Academy Charter School was established in 2005 by a group of parents passionate about providing a solid education that prepares students for tomorrow’s world. Today, parents like you, in partnership with administration and teachers, work to create the school we desire for our kids. Whether you volunteer regularly, help at one event, or simply stay connected, you are an important part of our PTO community. Every level of involvement helps support our students and strengthen our school.
The PTO mission is to serve the school community and promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff at Flagstaff Academy.
The Flagstaff Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) coordinates many activities to support the school. We come from a variety of backgrounds—working parents, stay-at-home caregivers, and community members—all united by our commitment to supporting Flagstaff students, teachers, and families. Whether organizing events, managing communications, or coordinating volunteers, each board member plays a key role in creating the positive impact PTO has on our school community. We’re always excited to welcome new faces and fresh ideas!
We hope you will join us in this mission to create the best Flagstaff Academy possible.
The PTO exists to enrich student experiences, build community, and provide support for school programs, events, and staff throughout the year.
While everyone is a PTO member, involvement can look different depending on your time, interest, and availability:
All parents and guardians are PTO members by default. Members are welcome to attend meetings, vote on PTO matters, volunteer when available, and stay informed through newsletters and school communications.
Volunteers assist with tasks before, during, or after events—no long-term commitment required. We ask that every family contribute throughout the year. These volunteers make our events possible, leads can plan but with out helping hands at the event The PTO cannot exist.
Follow one of our Event Leads as they plan and coordinate PTO events or programs. Managing groups of volunteers, coordinating with other PTO teams, and coming to General Meetings. These are core spots allow PTO Members to see what a lead role entails prior to committing.
Room Parents support their child’s classroom by helping with communication, organizing teacher appreciation efforts, and assisting with classroom needs as requested by teachers.
Committee Leads help organize and prepare our dragon community for their program. From spiritwear to community fundraising programs. These leads ensure that our PTO members are aware of what is happening in our community. We ask that the attend General Meetings.
Event Leads help plan and coordinate specific PTO events or programs. Managing groups of volunteers, coordinating with other PTO teams, and coming to General Meetings. These are core spots ensuring our beloved events go off without a hitch. As a whole we try to have a lead for every event so not one person is committed to leading multiples.
Board Members are volunteer leaders who help guide the PTO’s mission, manage operations, and coordinate school-wide efforts. Board roles typically require a higher level of involvement and are elected or appointed for set terms.
